Observations of a currently unringable installation.

A repair programme to the structural stonework of the tower was carried out in recent years, so it is just feasible that futuristically, very limited bell ringing can be realised at this tower, when all safety and mechanical evaluations have been completed.

  • Clock.
  • Good rope circle, but No. 5 rope drops close to stone pillar.
  • High rope guides.
  • Re-conditioned ropes fitted.
  • Some ropes tend to dance around.
  • Tenor bell out of tune.
  • Further maintenance required.
  • Very limited ringing, only for special occasions.

Technical attributes.

  • Historic wooden frame with strengthening beams.
  • Historic wooden headstocks.
  • Plain gudgeon pin bearings.
  • Conventional stays.
