*Observations.

A repair programme to the structural stonework of the tower was carried out in recent years. Very limited durations of bell ringing occur at this tower, specifically only for special service occasions and not quarter or full peals. Further major building works to be carried out at the Church. Regret, ringing is temporarily suspended. 

  • Clock.
  • Good rope circle.
  • High rope guides.
  • Re-conditioned ropes fitted.
  • Some ropes tend to dance around, especially No.5.
  • No.5 bell can prove difficult to raise and lower.
  • Tenor bell out of tune.
  • Further planned maintenance work to be carried on bell installation during 2019.

  • Historic wooden frame possibly c1695.
  • Recent R.S.J. strengthening beam beneath the original frame.
  • Wooden headstocks.
  • Screw-type crown staples.
  • Baldric-type clapper bearing hangers.
  • Plain gudgeon pin bearings.
  • Conventional stays.
  • Multi-positional iron end-stop pegs on slider travel.
  • Bell installation overhauled by Geo. Day of Eye, 1910.

Originally, all 6 bells were cast in 1695 by Henry II Bagley.
