Former branch towers & bells.

Over the years, affiliations change for a variety of reasons or quite simply, churches close their doors for the final time due to falling congregations and church politics.

Here, in our branch, we have seen comings and goings but to complete the gap in our county border historical picture, we have two parishes worthy of mention.

Uniquely perhaps, we have one of each scenario in our midst, namely the former three-bell St. Andrew’s Church at Clay Coton, now a private dwelling, having closed circa early 1960’s and a couple of miles down the road, stands the anticlockwise five-bell St. Nicholas’ Church, Stanford on Avon which migrated to the C. of E. Leicester Diocese and also Leicester Diocesan Guild of Church Bell Ringers, Market Harborough Branch. On this occasion we have a church firmly located on Northamptonshire soil but alas, under jurisdiction of another diocese & county no less !
